Leonardo Da Vinci
Janna Kumi is a Canadian artist based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. She studied natural resource management and forestry at universities in Montreal, Munich and Vancouver, and worked for over 30 years in senior management and executive positions in British Columbia. In 2006 she began fine art studies part time at Emily Carr and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia in 2015. Since then, her art practice has evolved into a unique body of work comprised of mostly drawings and mixed media works centred mainly upon the tree - and more specifically - the bark.
You can read more about Janna in the section "About the Artist".
PRINTS
I emphasize original work on paper or increasingly, on wood panel. At times, I will offer Limited Edition prints (1/10) of particular works. This is noted in the write-up beneath the work. These prints are special editions printed on archival, high quality paper using the best quality printing inks and limited to 10 copies.
COMMISSIONS
Much of my work has been produced as commissioned pieces for the collector. It costs no more and I appreciate getting to know the client and their needs. Please see the special section on this website which outlines the work flow for commissioned work.
ASSOCIATIONS
I am an Associate Signature Member (AFCA) of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), a title awarded to a member who has demonstrated a high degree of technical skill and artistic proficiency in their work.
And, a member of the Professional Artists Association.
